How To Correctly Apply Delay Sprays: The Definitive Guide

delay spray

At first, I never intended to write this blog because I thought it didn’t require too much explanation, because each spray has a clear instructions for its use. But I was wrong. I have found that too many users did not achieve the desired results due to incorrect use of delay sprays.

So this blog was created. In this blog, I will provide a detailed description of the various steps involved in using delay sprays. Especially, I will not only explain how to do it, but also explain why it should be done that way, so that readers can have a thorough understanding of the correct apply method. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Cleaning the Genital Area

As is well known, the male genital area often harbors dirt and grime. Sprays contain various chemical and plant components (read this blog), which are usually safe for clean skin. However, they may react chemically with some “dirty things”, stimulate your skin, cause dermatitis, and so on.

Occasionally one or two times may be fine, but if used frequently in dirty conditions, it may lead to more troublesome diseases. So I suggest that before each use, you should keep your genital area clean.

Of course, if you insist on taking a shower every day, then this step can be skipped.

Step 2: Shaking the Bottle

As we mentioned earlier, sprays contain various chemical and plant components. So its liquid is not a pure substance, but a mixture, made up of multiple liquids. If the bottle is left untouched for a long time, there may be some sediments falling to the bottom of the bottle. Moreover, the density distribution of various liquids inside is also uneven. In this state, when applied to the skin, it may affect absorption and efficacy.

Although this usually does not cause major problems, I still recommend that before each use, you should shake the bottle gently.

Step 3: Determine the Dosage

This is the most important step and one that requires repeated experimentation to master!

On the one hand, if you use too little, it is obvious that the delay will not be too long. Because its mechanism is to numb your penis, reduce its sensitivity, and thus delay ejaculation. Insufficient dosage cannot significantly reduce sensitivity.

On the other hand, excessive dosage not only causes waste, but also excessively numbs your penis, causing you to completely lose the pleasure of sexual intercourse. Yes, your erection time will indeed be significantly prolonged, but your orgasm will not be because you are completely numb.

So how do you know how many sprays are the optimal dosage for the spray you have chosen? Obviously, different sprays are different, and different people are also different. So there is no shortcut, you need to experiment on your own. Usually, the product instructions provide a “reference dosage”, which is an important basis. You can start from that dosage, increase it if the delay effect is not good, and reduce it if you feel excessive numbness.

Step 4: Spraying and Massaging

I assume you already know the optimal dosage, such as 5 sprays. Now we can actually spray.

Spray the number of times determined in the previous step to the most sensitive parts of the penis. This consists of the frenulum, as well as the underside of the glans (head) and shaft of the penis (see the picture below). In the meantime, massage and rub to ensure better absorption.

The key to this step is to evenly cover your sensitive area with the sprayed liquid.

WARNING: Do NOT spray/apply to your urethral opening! If you do it unintentionally (or intentionally), you will feel a strong burning sensation! At this time, please immediately rinse the urethral opening with clean water. If the burning sensation does not subside, please seek medical attention promptly.

Step 5: Waiting

You need to be patient and wait for your skin to completely absorb the liquid. The question is, how long should you wait? As with the determination of dosage, the time required for different sprays and different people is certainly different.

In the author’s personal experience, products based on lidocaine or benzocaine have a shorter waiting time, usually between 5 and 15 minutes. Products with all natural ingredients require more waiting time, usually between 10 and 30 minutes.

Of course, the product instructions will definitely provide a suggested waiting time, be sure to read it.

Step 6: Cleaning Again

Why is this step necessary? Because your skin usually does not completely absorb the liquid, there will be a small amount of liquid residue. Next, you will enter the female partner’s body, and the residue liquid will also follow in, unless you are wearing a condom. Although this usually does not cause harm to the woman’s body, it may also numb her, especially when the man’s waiting time is not long enough and there is still a considerable amount of liquid that has not been absorbed.

There is another situation where you plan to have oral sex. As mentioned earlier, sprays contain various chemical and plant components, they are not “delicious” at all and so should not enter the mouth.

In short, if you are not planning oral sex or have used a condom, this step can be skipped, otherwise I strongly recommend cleaning your genital area again. For example, you can simply use wet wipes to wipe the applied area.

Step 7: Start

Yes, you are ready now, enjoy it slowly!

Conclusion

The steps for correctly using delay sprays are summarized as follows:

  1. Cleaning the Genital Area (Skip if you take a shower every day)
  2. Shaking the Bottle
  3. Determine the Dosage (Refer to the instructions)
  4. Spraying and Massaging (See the diagram)
  5. Waiting (Refer to the instructions)
  6. Cleaning Again (Skip if you don’t plan on oral sex or have used a condom)
  7. Start

Also, remember to carefully read the product instructions. You must refer to the manufacturer’s recommended dosage and waiting time – each instruction should contain those two pieces of information, otherwise, do NOT buy that product. Good luck!
